A cannonball man at a Colombian circus in Cali was seriously injured after the stunt went awry and he landed short of his target net on Monday (September 21).
21일(현지시간) 콜롬비아 칼리에서 열린 한 서커스 공연에서 ‘인간대포알’ 묘기를 선보이던 남성이 목표물인 그물에 한참 못 미쳐 떨어져 중상을 입었다.

The freak accident was caught on camera and showed the exact moment when performer Israel Gaska was shot out of the cannon and plummeted to the ground after he failed to reach his target.
이 보기 드문 사고 장면이 카메라에 포착됐다. 영상에는 곡예사 이즈라엘 가즈카가 대포에서 발사된 뒤 목표물까지 도달하는 데 실패해 바닥으로 추락하는 바로 그 순간이 담겨있다.

His cousin and circus director, Raul Gaska, blamed a technical failure on the cannon for the accident.
그의 사촌이자 서커스 연출가인 라울 가즈카는 대포에 기술적인 문제가 발생해 사고가 일어났다고 주장했다.

"What happened was that my cousin, Israel Gaska, when he was fired from the cannon, there was a technical failure and he was not thrust strong enough to fly the twenty meters which he was used to. He only flew some ten meters and did not reach the net," he said.

“내 사촌 이즈라엘 가즈카가 대포에서 발사됐을 때, 대포에 기술적인 문제가 있었다. 그는 평소처럼 20m 거리를 힘차게 날아가지 못한 채 10m 정도만 날아갔고, 결국 그물까지 도달하지 못했다.”

According to doctors, Gaska fractured several bones after he fell from a 20-meter height and would remain in the hospital under observation for at least a week.
의료진에 따르면 가즈카는 20m 높이에서 떨어지면서 몇 군데 골절상을 입었으며, 최소 1주일 동안 병원에 입원해 있으면서 진찰을 받을 예정이다.
